Welcome to DeutschCafé

Learn German, meet people and feel at home in a new language.

DeutschCafé has been a language school for around 10 years. Since Gerel took over the management in 2019, the school has continued to develop and has established itself in Freiburg im Breisgau as a place for learning German. Our personal and welcoming atmosphere is especially important to us: Our small group environment allows for direct interaction and individual support for our participants.

Gerel supports our participants with extensive experience, patience and a keen sense of their individual needs. It is important to her that everyone feels comfortable in class while being able to work purposefully on their German skills.

Bileg

Deputy School Management & Organization

Bileg is responsible for the organizational and conceptual aspects of DeutschCafé. Together with the team, he continues to develop our courses and structures and is commited to making German language education personal, accessible and relevant to everyday life.

Right in the Heart of Freiburg

DeutschCafé is located right in the center of Freiburg, in the historic Old Town. Its central location makes it easy to combine your language course with life in the city. Cafés, restaurants, small shops and numerous shopping opportunities are all within easy reach.

From the central Bertoldsbrunnen tram stop, the language school is about a 3–5-minute walk away. Our rooms are located at Grünwälderstraße 20, 1st floor, above the TUI travel agency.

Our Facilities

Our rooms are deliberately designed to feel personal and welcoming. They provide a pleasant environment for focused learning, working together and interaction within the group.

In addition to the classrooms, DeutschCafé also has a kitchen. It is equipped with a coffee machine and kettle and provides a space to meet before or after class or during breaks. Coffee, tea and occasional small snacks are available. Participants are also welcome to bring their own food and drinks. A refrigerator, microwave, stove, as well as dishes and cutlery can be used during breaks.

Quiet, bright and personal

Small Room

Our small classroom provides space for groups of up to 8 participants. Facing the courtyard, it is particularly quiet and makes it easy to concentrate and learn. At the same time, the natural daylight creates a bright and pleasant atmosphere.

Coffee, conversations and a little break

Kitchen

Our kitchen is a cozy place to relax – before and after class or during breaks. It is equipped with a coffee machine and a kettle; coffee, tea and occasional small snacks are available. Our participants are also welcome to bring their own food and drinks. A refrigerator, microwave, stove, as well as dishes and cutlery are available for use.

Large Room

Our large classroom provides space for groups of up to 10 participants. Located in the heart of Freiburg, the room looks out onto one of the lively streets of the city. Even during class, you can sense the activity outside and feel connected to everyday life in Freiburg. The atmosphere makes it easy to bring what you learn directly into your everyday life.
